Summer News from the Studio
Hello,
It's shaping up to be a busy summer in the studio, with new commissions, exhibitions, workshops and events all on the horizon.
I currently have availability for a small number of bespoke stained glass commissions. Whether you're looking for a contemporary stained glass panel, a personal commemorative piece or a window designed specifically for your home, I'd be delighted to discuss your ideas. Each commission is individually designed and handmade in my Hayfield studio, combining traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary approach to colour, light and design. To get in touch click this link.
Alongside commissions, a selection of my work can be viewed and purchased at The Gallery in New Mills. The collection includes stained glass panels, sculptural works and a range of smaller handmade gift pieces, making it possible to take home an original piece of stained glass without commissioning a bespoke design.
On 20 June, I'll be taking part in New Mills Pride at the Rock Mill Centre, where visitors can create their own fused glass Pride Wish Stick. This colourful drop-in activity costs £5 per person, is suitable for all ages 8+ and offers a chance to get creative while celebrating a fantastic local community event.
I'm also currently developing a new collection of work for Manchester Made Craft Fair at Waterside Arts, Sale, on 18 July. The collection explores brutalist ideas through painted and stained glass. If you're attending the event, please do come and say hello and see the new work in person.
The studio has been busy with workshops over recent weeks, and I'm looking forward to welcoming students until July. Bookings for autumn workshops for September will be on my website at the end of July, with plans to expand the programme to include additional Thursday sessions alongside existing Friday classes. There will also be some new new fused glass workshops for the autumn, which I'll be sharing more information about soon.
Looking further ahead, I'll be working towards the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair this autumn, where I'll be exhibiting new stained glass and painted glass work focusing on sustainability using circle economy principles.
Thank you for following along with my work and supporting independent craft. Whether you visit me at New Mills Pride, Manchester Made, The Gallery in New Mills, attend a workshop or commission a piece, your support is greatly appreciated.
I hope to see you over the summer.
